Why Is the Anglevator preferred Over Traditional Dental Elevator?

Why Is the Anglevator preferred Over Traditional Dental Elevator?

Anglevator over Tradiotional Elevator

Let's be honest; your typical dental patient is not over-the-moon about sitting in the patient's chair. But, unless they know, you will take the necessary steps to make their visit a decent one!

Every holiday and minutes passing by are being counted while ensuring your patient they are in good hands. This all begins the moment they walk in your doors to start their dental checkup.

Developing Patient experience with skilled dentistry leaves them in minimal pain or discomfort is the key to success and progress!

Every general dentist wants to ensure high-quality treatment for their patients. So, selection of dentistry instruments must be of central importance for dentist and patients both. For tooth extraction procedures, the dentist used luxating instruments.

These instruments are like levers used to loosen, remove, or impact teeth during dental surgeries. The features are blunt and round tips that are commonly used before the application of the extraction forceps.

Commonly, dental healthcare professionals prefer Anglevators instead of a traditional Luxating instrument.

Role of Anglevator in Tooth Extraction

The Anglevator is handheld equipment pretty much better than the old luxating tool. It is an all-in-one tool that makes extractions easier, less painful, and, most importantly, atraumatic. It penetrates deep into the PDL and elevates the root surface. It is not just an elevator; instead, a combination of six other leading dental equipment includes Peristome, Luxator, Crane Pick, Chisel, Elevator, and Proximator.

Place the angled blade's point into the Mesial Buccal, as we learned with elevators, just in a more apical direction. Work the edge as deep as possible, then rotate/twist like an elevator. Their corner tip is more comprehensive, thinner, and sharper to wedge between the bone and the root in PDL safely. Anglevator is usually twisted or to loosen the more extensive basis.

Why Are Anglevators Preferred?

These elevators are thinner as compared to traditional elevators; that’s why these instruments are sharp. Traditional elevators are thicker with a slightly bowed shoulder on the back, and that’s why they are less sharp.

Anglevators are Sharper and Thinner

These instruments are better able to fit in narrow and tight spaces. Therefore, they are more efficient in cutting the periodontal ligament with very little injury. Anglevators are used in a circular motion by applying the apical pressure to separate the tooth from the periodontal ligament and surrounding bone.

These dentistry instruments should not be designed to use in prying motion such as traditional elevators, though, nor should try and apply the pressure to tooth root with this elevator.
Note: These instruments are very sensitive instruments during use, as they are not forgiving and can chip or break if a dentist used them incorrectly.
